Which masquerade masks are for men

It can be confusing when buying a mask, which masks are for men? Get it wrong and you could be a little embarrassed, play it too safe and you will look boring!
Here is a brief guide to masks suitable for men to wear to a masked ball.
Firstly we have the classic Venetian eye mask for men. These masks only cover the eye area an are extremely comfortable and easy to wear. They come in many materials, from classic paper mache to fine filigree metal. They can be as simple as a classic black mask or a work of art. One thing though that mens eye masks do have in common is that the colours tend to be bold primary colours. Gilding in gold and silver is often present but glitter tends not to be.  Below is an example of an eye masks for men.
Next men may wish to choose something a little more adventurous. What about a long nosed mask. These masks are very masculine but will draw a lot of attention and cheeky comments. Originating from Italian theatre characters, these mask make wonderful interior decorations when finished with. The wearer is still able to eat and drink whilst wearing the mask but caution is needed when moving about so as not to poke people.

Another great men's mask is the Bauta mask. This is a mask that covers three quarters of the face. It has a strong beak like jaw line that allows the wearer to eat and drink. These mask are also richly decorated often with much gilding. This is a classic mask and gives it's wearer complete anonymity.
This is not an exhaustive list of suitable masks. Many full face masks are suitable but bear in mind you have to remove these for refreshments.
